Running an Adwords campaign can be a daunting and confusing task. I’ll admit that when I first started with Adwords I couldn’t get past the setup page. Even after using it for awhile, it’s hard to really know if you’re using it effectively and efficiently. Starting on October 4th, Google will hold it’s Train and Gain challenge. The challenge features a weekly list of steps to improve your campaign. You’ll sign in just twice a week to work on the steps, about 30 minutes each time. At the end of the challenge, if you’ve completed the steps and answered a short questionnaire you’ll be entered to win an android phone and SEO consultation in Sydney, Australia.

This is a good opportunity for businesses that want to try Adwords but don’t know where to start or for people who are using it but aren’t maximizing it. Adwords also has a new Small Business Center which Google describes as “The site is a one-stop shop for small and medium businesses. It allows visitors to explore beginner, intermediate or advanced AdWords topics and connects you to the latest AdWords news and best practices.”
